Facilities
Gensan Airport has one of the longest runways in the Philippines counting 3,227 meters (10,587 feet) capable of operating large airplanes like Boeing 747.
New, modern passenger terminal building has been completed in 2021. It features spacious pre-departure area, updated security and check-in systems, and improved amenities.
Connectivity
General Santos International Airport offers direct flights to the most popular domestic flight destinations. Those include:
- Manila (MNL): Approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes flight time
- Cebu (CEB): Approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes flight time
- Iloilo City (ILO): Approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes flight time
- Angeles City (CRK): Approximately 2 hours flight time. ​
Additionally, other domestic destinations such as Bacolod, Caticlan, Puerto Princesa, Tacloban, and Dumaguete can be reached with easy to connect flights.
Despite it’s name General Santos International Airport does not offer regular international flights, barred occasional international charter flight.

It’s located around 14 km away from downtown General Santos City, which takes about 20–30 minutes depending on traffic

Airport shuttle vans and multicabs are usually readily available just outside the terminal They cover most of the popular drop-off points in the city such as KCC Mall, SM City Gensan, or the public market etc.
You can expect to fare of ₱100–₱150 per person depending on vehicle.
Taxi
Metered taxis are available outside the arrival area, but can be limited depending on the time of day. If you want to avoid waiting, you can book a GrabTaxi or pre-arranged taxi service.
Fare is usually raging from ₱300 to ₱500 depending on the exact destination.

Many hotels in Gensan offer airport pickup services, though it’s best to arrange this in advance.
